Too many people get tired each day on some fad diet that promotes itself as weight loss that works the moment you start it, just as miracle. Well, the reality is that there are no miracles when it comes to weight loss. Everyone is different and but one thing is for sure and that is you have to make lifestyle changes if you want weight-loss that works.
First of all, you have to make the commitment to losing weight. You also need to accept the fact that true long-lasting weight loss does not happen overnight. These fad diets make promises such as losing 100 pounds in 10 days which is near impossible. You can realistically expect to lose several pounds each week. Sure, you might lose 10 pounds really fast but after that your body will naturally resist giving up the stored fat. This is where your commitment keeps you focused on your goal. You’ll have to make adjustments to eating habits and exercise routines throughout your weight loss period as there is no magic formula for this.
When you slip, get back on track. This will happen to everyone. Usually it happens at a party or other special event when they serve food that is not on your diet. It happens also when you are a guest at someone else home and they serve you their favorite specialty (and fattening meal). There is no need to be rude or put on a big show about how you are trying to lose weight. If you cannot politely turn down what has been served to you, eat it and start again tomorrow. Keep in mind that if you have been maintaining your weight loss program consistently that one instance of eating fattening food is not going to make that much difference.
